Bridging Cultures with ESL Educator James
Hello, I'm James Delaney, and I bring a wealth of experience and expertise that can greatly benefit your organization. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and possess TESOL certification. With 13.5 years of teaching ESL both in Europe and online, I have successfully worked with diverse students of all ages and backgrounds.
During my current position as an ESL teacher at Learnship, I have consistently achieved the highest student return rate over my nearly 10-year tenure. My teaching approach is natural, engaging, and enjoyable, tailored to connect with individuals from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Over my 12 years of teaching experience with children, including 5 years as an autistic ABA instructor and 2 years as a volunteer teacher, I've developed the ability to utilize various resources, such as textbooks, multimedia tools, and authentic materials, to create interactive and captivating lessons that promote active learning.
Turning Weaknesses into Strengths
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment is one of my strengths. Having lived in five countries and gained extensive life experience, along with a broad socio-political, philosophical, and artistic awareness, I infuse lessons with the kind of engaging elements that keep students enthralled and attentive. Furthermore, I'm skilled at identifying and targeting specific areas of improvement, turning weaknesses into strengths.
Beyond teaching English, I have a passion for songwriting and a background as a touring musician who has performed with top industry professionals. My involvement in the film industry as a performer includes participation in award-winning films, including recognition at the Austrian Film Festival Award in 2018.
